[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””]An “authorized food waste recycling facility” is a Class C recycling center (a recycling facility that accepts source separated compostable material) in New Jersey that is authorized to accept, store, process, or transfer food waste or compostable material, pursuant to the Recycling rules, N.J.A.C. 7:26A . This map is for reference only and may not be used to determine whether a large food waste generator is located within 25 road miles of an authorized food waste recycling facility and is subject to source separation and recycling requirements under the Food Waste Recycling rules. A large food waste generator must determine their distance from an authorized food waste recycling facility and whether they need to comply with the mandated food waste source separation and recycling requirements.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9312″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Please note that a large food waste generator that is subject to the source separation and recycling requirements of the Food Waste Recycling rules may use one or more of the following recycling methods pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26K-2.4 : 1) sending their food waste to an authorized food waste recycling facility, 2) treating or recycling their food waste onsite through enclosed composting, aerobic, or anaerobic digestion, 3) sending the food waste to a person authorized to accept it for an agricultural purpose, and/or 4) utilizing any other method of recycling or reuse of food waste as authorized by NJDEP.
