Use of NJGWS Publications and Data

NJGWS-authored maps and publications are, for the most part, in the U.S. public domain and can be freely copied and used without permission if unchanged and unedited. We ask that you acknowledge the NJGWS as the source and provide a citation to the map or publication. NJGWS publications may also contain copyrighted maps or figures as noted in the text; permission to reproduce these copyrighted items must be secured from the copyright owner. There are three NJGWS publications that are copyrighted: ‘Battles and Skirmishes of the American Revolution in New Jersey’ (report and map) and ‘Delaware and Raritan Canal Historic Map, 1976′. These publications can be referenced but not reproduced.

Unpublished NJGWS data and reports are considered to be in the U.S. public domain. Unpublished NJGWS data and reports are provided after submitting a written request to the NJ State Geologist.
