The initial phase will focus on the east side of the shed that connects with the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal Building.

60,000 square feet of the train shed is planned to be restored in the first phase, creating flexible gathering and event space with seating and future interpretive programming. The remainder of the train shed that is not included in the first phase will be structurally reenforced, with a 50ft buffer being deconstructed.

In 2024 a series of structural, soil and ground water tests were conducted to inform project decisions.

Restoration work on the first phase of the historic Train Shed is expected in 2025.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_raw_html css=””]JTVCYmFmZyUyMGlkJTNEJTIyMTg0MyUyMiU1RA==[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”4″ css=””][vc_column_text css=””]
