State Parks, Forests & Historic Sites Strategic Plan

Building upon a program reflection process undertaken in 2021, and with insights gained through participation in the Department of Environmental Protection’s 2022 “Outside Together” initiative, consideration of New Jersey State Wildlife Action Plan and New Jersey State Forest Action Plan and with extensive feedback from both long-standing and newly integrated staff, the State Parks, Forests & Historic Sites Program developed a guiding Mission Statement, identified Five Priority Areas and compiled key strategies to direct the program’s efforts. With these foundational elements, we developed a strategic plan to guide and measure our work for the benefit of visitors and the public and the natural, cultural and historic resources with which we are entrusted.
