Description of Proposed Diversion: 

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8, this scoping hearing is being held to solicit public comment on two proposed parkland disposals before the Township’s formal filing of a disposal application with the Department of Environmental Protection, as follows:

1. 1. The proposed disposal of Block 355, Lot 1.01 (0.84 acre) for the construction of a permanent water treatment facility for PFAS removal from the Township’s Well No. 3.
   2. The proposed disposal of Block 500.04, Lot 5 (1.13 acre) for the construction of a permanent water treatment facility for PFAS removal from the Township’s Well No. 4.

As compensation for the proposed disposals, the Township proposes to dedicate as parkland a total of 4 acres of land from Block 323, Lot 4.  In addition, the Township proposes to replace the basketball courts currently located on the Jessup Road Open Space parcel.
