Description of Proposed Diversion: The Township of Ocean, in the County of Monmouth, New Jersey will be conducting a scoping hearing to discuss the proposed diversion of a 0.046-acre portion of South Edgemere Open Space (Block 76, Lot 1) in order for the Township to convey a permanent overhead utility easement to Jersey Central Power and Light Company (JCP&L). This easement will allow JCP&L to relocate and install Structure 189, a steel monopole with concrete foundation, as well as clear vegetation for wires (conductors) crossing Deal Lake.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8, this scoping hearing is being held to solicit public comment on the proposed diversion prior to the Township’s formal filing of a diversion application with the Department of Environmental Protection.
