As directed by Executive Order No. 89 , the Chief Resilience Officer, with the support of the Interagency Council on Climate Resilience, developed a statewide Climate Change Resilience Strategy. The Climate Change Resilience Strategy, released October 12, 2021, includes recommendations to promote the long-term mitigation, adaptation, and resilience of New Jersey’s economy, communities, infrastructure, and natural resources throughout the State.

2021 New Jersey Climate Change Resilience Strategy
New Jersey’s first statewide Climate Change Resilience Strategy provides a suite of forward-looking policy options to promote the long-term resilience of New Jersey to climate change. As a framework for policy, regulatory, and operational changes, the Resilience Strategy presents actions that New Jersey’s Executive Branch can take to support the resilience of the state’s communities, economy, and infrastructure. The Resilience Strategy includes 127 recommended actions across six priority areas.

Climate Change Resilience Strategy Two-Year Anniversary Accomplishment Report
Since the Resilience Strategy’s publication, the Interagency Council has grown to 22 executive branch agencies and departments, all of whom have been working to bring forth the Strategy’s vision for a more resilient and sustainable New Jersey. The Two-Year Anniversary Accomplishments Report showcases more than 40 regulatory and policy actions that state agencies have taken over the past two years to adapt and respond to climate change.

The New Jersey Statewide Flood Resilience Initiatives report highlights both ongoing programs and individual projects led by state agencies aimed at reducing flood risk.
