Underground Storage Tank Compliance Report<\/h4>\n

In New Jersey it is illegal to introduce hazardous substances into an underground storage tank system which is known or suspected to be leaking or discharging hazardous substances, or into a tank which is not properly registered with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (Department). The Department intends to revoke the registrations of facilities with underground storage tanks that have not complied with the leak detection, spill, overfill and cathodic protection requirements of N.J.A.C. 7:14B-1 et seq.<\/p>\n

The Active Facilities Compliant Tanks Report<\/a> includes active underground storage tank systems which are in compliance with the requirements for leak detection, spill, overfill and cathodic protection required by N.J.A.C. 7:14B-1<\/a> [pdf]<\/span> et seq. Only those UST Systems that have a current and valid registration with the Department and identified on the above report are considered in compliance.<\/p>\n

NOTE FOR DISTRIBUTORS: Facilities not included in The Active Facilities with Compliant Tanks Report<\/a> may be out of compliance for failure to maintain leak detection, upgrade, pay outstanding registration fees, or submit a current registration questionnaire. In accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:14B-1.8 (b)<\/a> [pdf]<\/span> no person or business firm shall introduce hazardous substances into a regulated underground storage tank which is not properly registered with the Department pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:14B-2.1<\/a>. NOTE FOR OWNERS\/OPERATORS: The Active Facilities with Compliant Tanks Report<\/a> is based on information the owner\/operator provided to the Department via an Underground Storage Tank Facility Certification Questionnaire. The accuracy of the list depends upon the accuracy of information the owner\/operator provided. Should an owner or operator find their facility is not listed in this report, they may consult the Department’s Compliance Guide<\/a> to verify the compliant or non-compliant status of their tanks. When a regulated facility is not listed on the report, and the owner\/operator determines that the tank(s) are actually in compliance, an updated Underground Storage Tank Facility Certification Questionnaire containing current, correct and accurate information must be submitted to the Department at the address on top of the questionnaire. Upon receipt of the updated questionnaire the Department will review the submitted information and re-evaluate the compliance status of the regulated facility. Where appropriate the Department will make the necessary corrections to its records. No changes will be made to the Department\u2019s records based on information relayed via telephone.
