\nProposed Repeals: N.J.A.C. 7:29-2.1 and 2.12<\/p>\n

Public Notice<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take notice <\/strong>that the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (Department) and the New Jersey Noise Control Council (Council) are proposing amendments to N.J.A.C. 7:29-1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, and 2.11. The Department and Council are also proposing repeals of the rules at N.J.A.C. 7:29-2.1 and 2.12.<\/p>\n

The proposed amendments and repeals will update the Noise Control rules to consolidate definitions from N.J.A.C. 7:29-2 with those at N.J.A.C. 7:29-1 to provide a single location for definitions; amend definitions that are not sufficiently descriptive; and update measurement procedures and sound level measurement device requirements to reflect modern technology in broad use<\/p>\n

The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated June 16, 2025. A copy of the proposal is available on the Department\u2019s website at https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/70\/proposals\/proposal-20250616a.pdf<\/a> and LexisNexis free public access to the New Jersey Register.<\/p>\n

A public hearing concerning the proposal will be conducted virtually via the Department\u2019s video conferencing software, Microsoft Teams, on July 7, 2025 at 6 P.M.<\/p>\n
