Notice of Rule Proposal<\/strong> PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong> This proposed rulemaking\u00a0implements N.J.S.A. 13:1D-157.\u00a0 The proposed rule will require certain facilities seeking certain permits in overburdened communities to prepare an environmental justice impact statement and conduct a public hearing to ensure meaningful public participation in the permitting process.\u00a0 Additionally, the Department will apply permit conditions where necessary to avoid increases to environmental and public health stressors.<\/p>\n The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated June 6, 2022.\u00a0 A copy of the proposal is available on the Department\u2019s webpage at: https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/70\/proposals\/20220606a.pdf <\/a> and LexisNexis free public access to the New Jersey Register (https:\/\/www.lexisnexis.com\/hottopics\/njoal<\/a>).<\/p>\n Public hearings will be held on this notice of proposal on the following dates and times:<\/p>\n Please join the July 28 meeting from your computer, tablet, or smartphone<\/strong>.
