\nSite Remediation and Waste Management Program<\/p>\n
Notice of Rule Proposal<\/strong> Public Notice<\/b> is proposing new rules, and rule amendments.\u00a0 The Department<\/p>\n is proposing minimum remediation standards for ground water,<\/p>\n surface water and soil pursuant to the Brownfield and Contaminated<\/p>\n Site Remediation Act, N.J.S.A. 58:10B-12(a).\u00a0 Remediation<\/p>\n standards for soil are proposed at new N.J.A.C. 7:26D-4, and<\/p>\n the Department proposes to recodify with amendments the existing<\/p>\n remediation standards for surface water and ground water from<\/p>\n the Technical Rules at N.J.A.C. 7:26E-1.13 to the proposed<\/p>\n new Remediation Standards rules at N.J.A.C. 7:26D-2 and 3,<\/p>\n respectively.\u00a0 The Department intends to apply these standards<\/p>\n to contaminated sites according to all applicable New Jersey<\/p>\n statutes.\u00a0 The Department intends that the new remediation<\/p>\n standards in concert with the amended Technical Rules, will<\/p>\n form the minimum standards by which all sites in New Jersey<\/p>\n are to be remediated.<\/p>\n The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated May<\/p>\n 7, 2007.\u00a0 A copy of the proposal<\/a> (PDF)<\/span> is<\/p>\n available from the DEP web site; official repository libraries; and LexisNexis<\/p>\n
