\nTake notice that the New Jersey Department of Environmental
\nProtection (Department) is extending the public comment period
\non its proposed new rules and amendments of its rules at N.J.A.C.
\n7:27-23 and N.J.A.C. 7:27A-3.10, its rules relating to the prevention
\nof air pollution from architectural coatings. This proposal
\nwas published in the July 21, 2003 New Jersey Register. The
\npurpose of the extension is to seek comment on feasible mechanisms
\nthat retailers could use to demonstrate compliance with the
\nrules. Options being considered by the Department for retailers
\nto demonstrate compliance include any one of the following:<\/p>\n
\nand distributors that the retailer will accept only products
\nfor sale in New Jersey that comply with N.J.A.C. 7:27-23;<\/p>\n
\nand distributors in which the manufacturers and distributors
\ncommit to supply to the retailer only products that comply with
\nN.J.A.C. 7:27-23; or<\/p>\n
\nother contractual and billing documents, which specify that
\nthe retailer will only accept products that comply with N.J.A.C.
\n7:27-23.<\/p>\n

\nthe comment period by 26 days to October 15, 2003. Written comments
