\nProposed amendments, repeals, and new rules<\/p>\n
\nTake notice<\/strong> that the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is proposing comprehensive amendments to the Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act Rules to add appropriate flexibility, provide better consistency with Federal, local, and other State requirements, implement statutory amendments related to agricultural exemptions and stream cleaning, and address implementation issues identified since the chapter\u2019s readoption with amendments in 2008. Additional amendments are proposed to the Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules and to the Coastal Zone Management Rules to maintain consistency between the chapters. This rulemaking is part of the Department\u2019s effort to transform the operations of the Division of Land Use Regulation in order to better prioritize and refocus permitting efforts on activities that are most likely to pose risk to the environment.<\/p>\n
