{"id":1189,"date":"2021-09-13T18:50:05","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T22:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/?page_id=1189"},"modified":"2021-10-14T14:22:44","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T18:22:44","slug":"20200406a-ext","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/notice-of-rule-proposal-archive\/20200406a-ext\/","title":{"rendered":"20200406a-ext"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>NJ DEPARTMENT of ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION<\/b><br \/>\nSITE REMEDIATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remediation Standards<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Notice of extension of comment period and postponement of public hearing on proposal<br \/>\nProposal of New Rules, Amendments, and Repeals, N.J.A.C. 7:26D<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Take notice <\/strong>that the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is extending the comment period for the proposed new rules, amendments, and repeals at N.J.A.C. 7:26D, Remediation Standards, and postponing the public hearing.\u00a0 The remediation standards apply to contaminated sites throughout the State.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal was published in the New Jersey Register on April 6, 2020, at 52 N.J.R. 566(a).\u00a0 The comment period for the proposal was originally scheduled to close on June 5, 2020.\u00a0 \u00a0The Department is extending the comment period for 60 days, until August 5, 2020.\u00a0\u00a0 The Department is also postponing the public hearing on the proposal, which was originally scheduled for May 11, 2020.\u00a0 The Department anticipates holding a public hearing on the proposal.\u00a0\u00a0The date and time of the hearing will depend on circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 public health emergency.\u00a0\u00a0If the Department holds a hearing, the public comment period will be extended, if necessary, until after the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Further information on a public hearing, if one is held, will be posted on the Department\u2019s website at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/notice-of-rule-proposals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/notices.html<\/a>\u00a0at least 15 days prior to the date of the hearing.\u00a0\u00a0Notice will also be sent to those who have subscribed to the Department\u2019s rulemaking listserv.\u00a0\u00a0To subscribe, go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/receive-rule-proposal-notices-via-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/receive-rule-proposal-notices-via-email\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Submit comments by August 5, 2020, electronically at <a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/comment-on-dep-rulemaking-2\/\">https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/comment-on-dep-rulemaking-2\/<\/a>.
