{"id":1168,"date":"2021-09-10T17:00:53","date_gmt":"2021-09-10T21:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/?page_id=1168"},"modified":"2021-10-14T14:23:14","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T18:23:14","slug":"20200615a","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/notice-of-rule-proposal-archive\/20200615a\/","title":{"rendered":"20200615a"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NJ DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION<\/strong><br \/>\nWater Resource Management<br \/>\nDivision of Water Quality<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Notice of Rule Proposal<\/strong><br \/>\nStandards for Individual Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems N.J.A.C. 7:9A<\/p>\n<p><strong>PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Take notice <\/strong>that the NJ Department of Environmental Protection is proposing an amendment to the Standards for Individual Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems (the Standards), N.J.A.C. 7:9A. \u00a0The Standards govern the design, location, construction, installation, alteration, operation and repair of individual subsurface sewage disposal systems, commonly known as \u201cseptic systems\u201d.\u00a0 The proposed amendment will remove the requirement that an authorized installer of advanced wastewater pretreatment devices, products in lieu of laterals and\/or filter material, and drip dispersal technologies possess a National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Certified Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (CIOWTS) Advanced Level certification.\u00a0 The Standards will continue to require, at N.J.A.C. 7:9A-3.17, that the manufacturer of these specialized proprietary technologies certify that the installer has sufficient knowledge to install that manufacturer\u2019s proprietary technology.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated June 15, 2020. \u00a0A copy of the proposal is available from the Department of Environmental Protection\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/70\/proposals\/20200615a.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/70\/proposals\/20200615a.pdf<\/a> and LexisNexis free public access to the New Jersey Register at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lexisnexis.com\/hottopics\/njoal\/\">http:\/\/www.lexisnexis.com\/hottopics\/njoal\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Written comments may be submitted electronically by August 14, 2020 at <a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/comment-on-dep-rulemaking-2\/\">https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/rules\/comment-on-dep-rulemaking-2\/<\/a> or in hard copy to:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Gary J.
