DEP first identified per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) as an issue of concern in New Jersey in 2006. In the years since, DEP has worked to advance the scientific understanding of PFAS, determine the impacts of PFAS upon human health and the environment in New Jersey, and reduce human exposure through regulation and pollution cleanup.<\/div>\n
