Under the authority granted by an Administrative Order<\/a>, Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is working closely with water suppliers to monitor conditions and implement measures that preserve and balance available water resources. This includes coordinated actions such as water transfers, controlled reservoir releases, and adjustments to stream flow rates to protect both ecological health and water supply needs. \nOn Monday July 21 at 4:00 am, a magnitude 1.6 earthquake occurred approximately two miles south of Randolph, Morris County. Over the next 18 hours there were five more earthquakes, two more in Randolph Township and three in Mendham Township. The strongest earthquake was 2.0 magnitude in Randolph Township at 8:00 pm. \nGovernor Murphy Signs Legislation Designating Franklinite as State Mineral<\/a> (Governor’s Office News Release)[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]February 14, 2023<\/strong>
\nAs part of the 2023 \u2013 2028 Water Supply Plan update, DWSG developed an ArcGIS Online product called \u201cNew Jersey Water Withdrawal Data Summary Viewer\u201d. The interactive map allows users to select, plot and download water withdrawal data by either municipality or 14-digit hydrologic unit. It provides an alternative way of viewing withdrawal data that is also included in the DGS13-1 file. Data can be viewed statewide or by selecting one or more of the geographic divisions. Downloads, in CSV format, are reflective of municipality or HUC14 selection. Data can also be sorted by source of water (e.g. groundwater, surface water, etc.) or by use of water (e.g. potable, agriculture, power generation, etc.). The dashboard can be viewed at\u00a0New Jersey Water Withdrawal Data Summary Viewer<\/a>.
