Geologic Maps<\/h3>\n

Data presented in these maps include, but are not limited to, surficial and bedrock geology, gravity anomalies, aquifer delineations, sand resource areas, and radon potentials. These maps are broken into four types: NJGWS Open-File Map Series (OFM), NJGWS Geologic Map Series (GMS), USGS Geologic Quadrangle Map Series (GQ), and USGS Miscellaneous Investigation Maps (I). OFM and GMS series publications are products of the New Jersey Geological Survey. OFM series publications are internally reviewed while GMS series publications are internally and externally reviewed. GQ and I series publications are products of the U.S. Geological Survey and are archived in the National Geologic Map Database (NGMDB). Search for maps by location or by list below.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Survey also maintains non-circulating collections of maps, air photos, publications, and geologic notes. Search by address by using the search engine in the upper right-hand corner of the map.<\/p>\n

Click the sideways triangles in the upper right-hand corner to see the different categories (Statewide, Countywide, Quadrangle, Offshore, and Miscellaneous) of technical geologic maps. These categories are based on the extents shown in the maps. Categories can be turned off\/on by clicking the box next to the category under “Legend” on the left-hand side of the map.
