State and Federal Partnership improves NJ\u2019s Hunting, Fishing & Shooting Opportunities!<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know your license dollars and a federal excise tax on your purchase of hunting and fishing equipment pays for most of New Jersey\u2019s fish, wildlife and habitat management and its other conservation programs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you purchase hunting, shooting, fishing equipment, motors, sonars and motorboat fuel in New Jersey, excise tax dollars \u2013 paid by manufacturers of that equipment \u2013 come back to New Jersey to support wildlife conservation! This is the federal Wildlife Restoration Program<\/a>, Sport Fish Restoration Program<\/a> or the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program<\/a>.  This partnership program serves as a cost-effective model for fish and wildlife conservation by providing fish and wildlife access to those who both funded and directly benefit from the resource\u2014the anglers and hunters. Their contributions through this \u201cuser pay, user benefit\u201d conservation model\u2014funded by license purchases and excise taxes on fishing and hunting equipment\u2014benefit all New Jersey residents, fish, wildlife and their habitats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
