{"id":407,"date":"2021-12-27T22:12:29","date_gmt":"2021-12-27T22:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/njfw\/?page_id=407"},"modified":"2025-08-05T15:24:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T19:24:53","slug":"lands-open-or-closed-to-sunday-bow-hunting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/njfw\/hunting\/lands-open-or-closed-to-sunday-bow-hunting\/","title":{"rendered":"Lands Open or Closed to Sunday Bow Hunting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Monday, May 4, 2009, Senate Bill 802 was signed into law.&nbsp;<strong>This legislative change amends the law (N.J.S.A. 23:4-24) to legalize deer hunting on Sundays with a bow and arrow on Wildlife Management Areas and on private property only.<\/strong>&nbsp;The change does NOT include any firearm hunting for deer, nor does it allow any type of hunting with either bow or firearm for any species other than deer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) are those public lands defined as being under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife. WMAs suitable for deer hunting are included on the list of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/njfw\/hunting\/public-deer-hunting-land-in-new-jersey\/\">land open to deer hunting<\/a>.
