Collectively, four major objectives of this plan are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improve the overall quality of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">waterfowl habitat<\/span><\/strong> and hunting at the Tuckahoe WMA impoundments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide an opportunity for&nbsp;<em>newly recruited or less experienced waterfowl hunters<\/em>, <strong><em>RECRUIT<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a new and improved experience for <em>current waterfowl hunters,<\/em> <strong><em>RETAIN<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide opportunities that alleviate access and overcrowding constraints that negatively impact hunters&#8217; experiences to bring them back. <strong><em>REACTIVATE<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Elements of the Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduce waterfowl disturbance by closing impoundment roads to all vehicular traffic during the waterfowl hunting season (South Zone), except on hunt days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce hunting pressure by only allowing waterfowl hunting 3 days\/week; <strong>Monday<\/strong>, <strong>Wednesday<\/strong>, and <strong>Saturday<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide two options of hunting experiences and hunter densities. The Tuckahoe side will have a structured lottery (for 6 designated blinds); however, the Corbin City side will have a less structured approach. The less structured strategy is more conducive for Corbin City since it is more than 2 times larger than the Tuckahoe side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Managed<\/span> Hunt as prescribed by the elements above and is <strong>NOT<\/strong> a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">guided hunt<\/span><\/strong> or <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">mentored hunt<\/span><\/strong> (unless specifically identified as such) Please keep in mind that water levels, blind success, weather conditions and other aspects are out of our control and subject to real hunting conditions. New Jersey Fish and Wildlife\u2019s R3 Program has and will do everything possible to encourage and assist hunters to maximize overall satisfaction of this program within limits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific Regulations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6 Designated hunting blinds are available by application and a random lottery. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Lottery Application is <strong>September 1-25.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notification of blind lottery will be by <strong>October 2.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blinds hold up to 4 hunters. Hunters awarded a hunt blind in the lottery can hunt alone or bring up to 3 additional guests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration is required during your hunt day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gates to the Tuckahoe impoundments roads will be gated and closed to all vehicle traffic starting the Monday before Youth Day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impoundments will only be open to waterfowl hunting on <strong>Mondays<\/strong>, <strong>Wednesdays<\/strong>, and <strong>Saturdays<\/strong> during the South Zone duck season.
