On March 4, 2026, the New Jersey Migratory Bird Season Selection Committee, in coordination with NJDEP Fish & Wildlife, developed proposed 2026-2027 migratory bird hunting season dates and bag limits . Written comments will be accepted through April 8, 2026 (11:59 p.m.) using njmigbirdpubliccomment@deptest.nj.gov.
Submitted comments will become part of the public record for the New Jersey Fish & Game Council meeting taking place on April 14, 2026 (10:00 AM) at Assunpink Wildlife Management Area – Central Region Office, 1 Eldridge Rd., Robbinsville, NJ. Comments can also be made in person at the Fish and Game Council meeting on April 14. Annual migratory bird season dates are not set by the NJ State Game Code but instead in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (Title 50). The meeting agenda, directions to the meeting, and instructions for virtual participation will be available at the Fish and Game Council website at https://deptest.nj.gov/njfw/councils-and-committees/fish-and-game-council/meetings/ three days before the meeting.
