Give Seals Space

Seals are hauling out on New Jersey beaches — and that’s totally normal! They come ashore to rest and warm up, so if you spot one, give it plenty of space and let it relax.

Here’s how you can help:

Keep your distance: Stay at least 150 feet away (about 3 bus lengths).

Leash your pets: Keep dogs far from seals to keep both safe.

See a seal that looks sick or injured? Call the Marine Mammal Stranding Center’s 24-hour hotline: 609-266-0538

Let’s keep New Jersey’s wildlife safe and stress-free this season!
