Trout In the Classroom – NJ Science Learning Standards

Need another way to promote TIC to your administrators? How about all the possible tie-ins to the NJ Science Learning Standards? The NJ Science Learning Standards are meant to introduce more hands-on experience and exploration to science instruction, supplanting the traditional focus on memorizing content and are directly connected to Common Core. They place more emphasis on engineering skills, and restructure New Jersey’s current standards to combine core content with the skills to apply them, and also incorporate interdisciplinary concepts.

Being a hands-on, science based program, there are many tie-ins to the NJ Science Learning Standards and Trout in the Classroom. The program is also cross-curricular with ties to Language Arts, Math, Art, Music and Physical Education.
