In addition to paying the cost for such deals they are also required to pay an additional fee as a Regulated Medical Waste Transporter as listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A-901 Licensed Medical Waste Transporter Fee is $7,900 every two years.<\/li>\n<li>Self-Generator Medical Waste Transporter Fee is $1,300 every two years.<\/li>\n<li>Self-Generator Medical Waste Transporter Fee involving Radiopharmaceuticals is $400 every two years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The fees are usually paid in conjunction with the renewal of the waste transporter decals which expire June 30th of each odd-numbered year.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"border-bottom border-info mb-3\">Facilities:<\/h2>\n<p>The registration year for intermediate handlers, collection facilities and destination facilities is January 1 through December 30 of each calendar year and fees are payable by January.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Destination Facilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\">\n<table class=\"table table-striped\" style=\"width: 50%;margin-left: 20%;border: 1px solid black\">\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th style=\"width: 75%;text-align: center;color: #ffffff;border: 1px solid\" bgcolor=\"#00669d\">RMW Treated and Destroyed Annually<\/th>\n<th style=\"width: 25%;text-align: center;color: #ffffff;border: 1px solid\" bgcolor=\"#00669d\">Annual Fee<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">&lt;1,000 Pounds<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">$50<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">1,000 &#8211; 10,000 Pounds<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">$500<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">&gt;10,000 Pounds<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;border: 1px solid\">$2,000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong>Commercial Intermediate Handler:<\/strong> $1,500 annual fee<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noncommercial intermediate handler<\/strong>, or an intermediate handler treating only its own waste that treats any quantity of liquid regulated medical waste that is disposed of into the sanitary sewer system, and treats less than 10,000 pounds of nonliquid regulated medical waste per year and sends that waste off-site as RMW for treatment, destruction or disposal is exempt from the intermediate handler annual registration fee but shall register as an intermediate handler pursuant to this section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Commercial Collection Facility:<\/strong> $500 application fee; $250 permit modification fee; $350 annual fee<br \/>\n<strong>Noncommercial Collection Facility<\/strong>\u00a0(&gt;2000 pounds of medical wastes per year ): $150 annual fee<br \/>\n<strong>Noncommercial Collection Facility<\/strong>\u00a0(&lt;2000 pounds of medical wastes per year ): no fee<br \/>\n<strong>Transfer Station:<\/strong>\u00a0$2,000 annual fee<br \/>\n<strong>Authorization of an alternative or innovative technology:<strong>\u00a0$1,500<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorization of an alternative or innovative technology demonstration program:<\/strong>\u00a0$2,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>Written Interpretation of any solid waste regulation:<\/strong>\u00a0$150[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>Frequently Asked Questions for Generator Annual Fees<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion color=&#8221;white&#8221; spacing=&#8221;1&#8243; gap=&#8221;1&#8243; c_icon=&#8221;chevron&#8221; c_position=&#8221;right&#8221; active_section=&#8221;-1&#8243; collapsible_all=&#8221;true&#8221;][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;What does this fee cover?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;fee-cover&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The generator fee issued in July 2025 will be for the registration period 7-22-2025 through 7-21-2026.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;What should I do If billed for the incorrect category or no longer generate Regulated Medical Waste?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;billed-incorrect-category&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Please review all medical waste disposal records between 7-22-2024 and 7-21-2025 to determine what your billing category as shown at the top of the page. The paper invoice can be expected in the mail about two weeks after you receive the e-mail notification due to the time it takes for processing and delivery via postal service. For example, John Does Hospital has a 20-acre campus with multiple buildings that generate regulated medical waste (this may include but not limited to a healthcare clinic, nurse\u2019s station and laboratories). The campus is contiguous and is not divided by any public roads and is only required to have one regulated medical waste ID#.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple Regulated Medical Waste generators that are separate and distinct businesses located in one building or contiguous property would each have to register as a Regulated Medical Waste generator.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deptest.nj.gov\/medwaste\/rmwreg\/\">Regulated Medical Waste Registration Form<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;When will I billed again for an
