Hydrogen energy is one such technology that has the power to slash emissions and accelerate the growth of the clean energy economy.\u00a0 It has the potential to decarbonize multiple economic sectors, including heavy-duty transportation, industrial manufacturing, and electric generation. Request for Information (RFI) on Clean Hydrogen in New Jersey<\/h4>\n

On May 2, 2023, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) released a RFI to gather information about the key opportunities and barriers around the deployment and adoption of clean hydrogen technologies in New Jersey. The NJEDA is soliciting insight from interested stakeholders in innovative clean hydrogen technologies including subject matter experts, clean energy\/technology industry entities, environmental organizations, and environmental justice communities. Fuel Cell Task Force<\/h4>\n

On June 19, 2020, Governor Phil Murphy, signed into law, the creation of a Fuel Cell Task Force (P.L.2020, c.38<\/a>).\u00a0 The Act established a Fuel Cell Task Force charged with developing a plan to increase the use of fuel cells in the State and to provide information, education, and resources for that purpose.\u00a0 The Task Force, spearheaded by the Board of Public Utilities, issued the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Toward Clean Energy Goals report in August of 2023.\u00a0 The report explores and identifies the ways in which New Jersey is well positioned to adopt fuel cell systems as a complement to renewable energy.
