  1. To acquire land offered for sale or donation by property owners for open space, to be used for recreation and conservation purposes.<\/li>\n
  2. Acquired land becomes part of the system of state parks, forests, wildlife management areas, and natural areas, and is assigned to the NJ State Park Service, NJ\u00a0 Fish and Wildlife, or NJ Natural Lands Trust for management.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    WHO IS ELIGIBLE<\/strong>
    \nAny owner of property in New Jersey (which includes private individuals; business entities; municipal, county, state governments; and nonprofit organizations.<\/p>\n

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Must submit a completed application<\/li>\n
    2. Applicant must be the legal owner of the property<\/li>\n
    3. The property offered for sale or donation must be \u201cclean,\u201d i.e., free of structures, contamination, debris, wells, septic systems, underground and above-ground storage tanks, etc.\u00a0 If not, owner must complete any required property clean-up as a condition of sale and prior to property closing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      LIMITATIONS<\/strong>
      \nThe amount that the state can pay for a property depends on several factors, including the appraised value of the property, the priority of the property acquisition, and the availability of funding.<\/p>\n
