\n<\/strong>Transportation emissions<\/a> remain the largest source of greenhouse gas pollution in the\u00a0State, contributing to climate change impacts like rising temperatures, rising sea levels,\u00a0and more extreme weather events. They also serve as a significant contributor for other air\u00a0pollutants, like NOx and particulate matter, which have harmful environmental and health effects. Moving toward transportation electrification addresses these concerns because electric vehicles (EVs) do not produce any tailpipe emissions.<\/p>\n

New Jersey\u2019s\u00a0low-income communities and communities of color<\/a>\u00a0have historically been subject to an unreasonably high number of environmental and public health stressors, including transportation emissions. As a result, residents in these areas suffer from increased adverse health effects including, but not limited to, asthma, cancer, elevated blood lead levels, cardiovascular disease, and developmental disorders.<\/p>\n

Electric mobility solutions\u00a0like carshare, rideshare, and ride hailing services provide additional modes of transport for residents in underserved areas, who often don\u2019t own a personal vehicle and rely on public transportation. eMobility will help ensure they have access to and can benefit from the advantages of clean vehicle technology.<\/p>\n

NOTIFICATION DATE
\n<\/strong>Eligible proposals will be added to our list of potential eMobility projects. As funding becomes available, applicants will be contacted when their project is being considered for award or if additional information is needed. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee the project will be awarded funding.<\/p>\n

SOURCE OF FUNDING
\n<\/strong>Funding sources and availability for eMobility projects vary. Since the program launched, proceeds from New Jersey\u2019s\u202fRegional Greenhouse Gas Initiative<\/a>\u202fauctions have provided approximately $18.3M for eMobility projects. WHO IS ELIGIBLE
\n<\/strong>eMobility projects are tailored to the communities they serve. Eligible project types include those that support electric, shared-use transportation, such as carshare, carpool\/vanpool, eMobility hubs, fixed-route shuttles, microtransit, or ride-hailing\/ride-on-demand.
