that is, less than a one in a million risk of cancer or noncancer health effect.\u00a0 Information on the sources of these numbers can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/dep\/aqpp\/risk.html\">www.nj.gov\/dep\/aqpp\/risk.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1999 NATA background &#8211; annual average background concentration for Camden County as estimated by USEPA for its 1999 National Air Toxics Assessment (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/ttn\/atw\/nata1999\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.epa.gov\/ttn\/atw\/nata1999\/<\/a>).\u00a0 This is a concentration that USEPA estimated would be found at a location even if there had been no recent manmade emissions.\u00a0 It is a contribution to outdoor air toxics concentrations resulting from natural sources, persistence in the environment of past years&#8217; emissions, and long-range transport from distant sources.<br \/>\n2003 Camden annual average &#8211; Annual average concentration measured for 2003 at the permanent NJDEP Camden air toxics monitoring site (at Copewood &amp; Davis Streets).<\/p>\n<p>2003 Chester annual average &#8211; Annual average concentration measured for 2003 at the permanent NJDEP Chester air toxics monitoring site (in Chester Township, Morris County).\u00a0 This site is considered to be a \u201cbackground\u201d site for New Jersey, because it is in a rural area located away from most sources of air pollution.<\/p>\n<p>Air toxics monitoring data is collected routinely at four permanent monitoring sites around the state.\u00a0 Results are given in the annual Air Quality Report (look under \u201cAir Toxics Summary\u201d).\u00a0 These can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.state.nj.us\/dep\/airmon\/index.html\">https:\/\/www.state.nj.us\/dep\/airmon\/index.html<\/a> under \u201cReports\u201d (in the column on the left).<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions, contact <a href=\"mailto:bamweb@deptest.nj.gov\">bamweb@deptest.nj.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"pt-4 pb-2\">CHEMICALS BELOW DETECTION LIMITS<\/h4>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The following volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were below the detection limits.\u00a0 That is, the concentrations in the air were too low to be measured with existing methods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VOCs <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,3-Butadiene<\/li>\n<li>Chlorobenzene<\/li>\n<li>Propylene<\/li>\n<li>1,1,1-Trichloroethane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reduced Sulfur Compounds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sulfur compounds that we hoped to measure were also below the detection limits, or they were found in the test blanks in the same concentrations as the samples.\u00a0 Therefore, no measurable sulfur compound data was collected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carbon disulfide<\/li>\n<li>Carbonyl sulfide<\/li>\n<li>Dimethyl disulfide<\/li>\n<li>Dimethyl sulfide<\/li>\n<li>Hydrogen sulfide<\/li>\n<li>Methyl mercaptan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&#8221;][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1179&#8243;
