Cells rarely short, up to 2\u20134(6)\u00d7 longer than wide, 3.5\u20138 \u03bcm long, pale grayish, blue\u2013green or bright blue\u2013green without aerotopes (Strunecky et al., 2017). <\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Toxins and toxicity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Presence of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pro-inflammatory and antiacetylcholinesterase (anti-AChE) substances which can cause death and induce transient symptoms, such as dyspnea, paralysis, and pain in the mice based on laboratory bioassay (Rangel et al., 2014).<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Distribution and Occurrence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">common species in brackish waters in the north-temperate region.
