Environmental and Public Health Analysis

The Office of Environmental and Public Health Analysis (EPHA) supports the administration of environmental and public health programs and initiatives consistent with the Department’s authorities and legislative mandates.

As the liaison to the New Jersey Department of Health’s Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) program, this office:

• Coordinates regular NJDEP data submittals to the larger National EPHT network
• Leverages various data sets to develop tools and resources that highlight the public health impacts from environmental degradation

These tools look at environmental public health from various perspectives (e.g., local government, environmental justice) and scales (e.g., parcel, block group, municipality) to inform meaningful solutions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

2023 Updated Vulnerability Analyses

NJDEP has updated a series of vulnerability analyses to support municipal and county emergency management planning. The data in these analyses is confidential, so to access it, municipal and county officials need to e-sign a Confidential Agreement attesting to their commitment to maintain the security and integrity of the data and documentation. After e-signing the form, email it to OEPHA@deptest.nj.gov. Chill Out NJ is a one-stop interactive map designed to help New Jerseyans find oases from the heat near where they live, work and play.
